What is the role of the expert witnesses?

Expert witnesses come into play when you’re in litigation in a courtroom setting. In a courtroom setting you have to hire an expert. Experts talk about the design of a product, experts talk about the speed of the vehicle, experts talk about whether or not your injuries are real and whether or not your injuries are related to this crash. That’s called causation. That’s when experts come into play. Expert witnesses are very expensive. I try to save my clients money and I try to avoid taking on the cost that comes out of your pocket ultimately with an expert witness.

However, it’s mandatory sometimes in cases that I have to get a consultation with an expert witness to see the direction I need to go on a case. At the end of the day, when we incur costs in a case, I can assure you that you’re not going to be liable for those costs. You don’t have the money for all these costs.
